Abstract

This article aims to explore the strategy of the prophet Muhammad in building organizational commitment to members, in particular, to the Ansar. This is useful for da'wah organizations in building the commitment of their members. Ansar were followers of the prophet in Medina, who was known to be highly committed to Islam. The Prophet Muhammad had a series of efforts in building the commitment of the Ansar so that they could have a high commitment to bind themselves to the congregation or Islamic brotherhood. The theory used in this research is the theory of building organizational commitment by Dessler and the work of McShane and Von Glinow. The method used in this research is literature study. The results of this study indicate that the Prophet's main strategy in building organizational commitment is to internalize the organization's vision. While in the next layer the strategies implemented include: exemplary leadership, 2-way communication, brotherly culture, member involvement and providing justice and security guarantees to members of the organization.
