Abstract

FIGURE OF SPEECH ANALYSIS OF K.H. AHMAD MUSTOFA BISRI POETRY ''HAPPY NEW YEAR'' Poetry as a method of da'wah has literary value so that the message of da'wah is more beautiful and interesting. Beautiful poetry is inseparable from the use of the right language style so that it makes poetry more alive, has the power of expression, fresh and memorable. One of Gus Mus's poems, entitled ‘’Selamat Tahun Baru Kawan’’, went viral on social media every new year's eve and garnered a positive response by many people. This success is inseparable from the use of a quality language style. The purpose of this study is to find out the variety of language styles used by K.H. Ahmad Mustofa Bisri in the poem entitled, "Selamat Tahun Baru Kawan’’as well as the function of the language style. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, this paper seeks to analyze the stylistics and stylistic functions of the poem ‘’Selamat Tahun Baru Kawan''. The results of this study found that there was a variety of figurative language styles including similes, irony, euphymisms, metaphors, sarcasm, and illusions. As well as a variety of rhetorical language styles including asindeton, erothesis, polysyndeton, oxymoron, alliteration, assonance, paradox. The function of the figurative language style in the poem is to provide clarity on the true image of man as a servant of God. Giving reprimands, insinuations to mad'u with subtle expressions so that there is a better change in carrying out the pillars of Islam. Meanwhile, the function of a variety of rhetorical language styles is to make poetry more interesting because the arrangement of the series of words and sentences of the poem contains beauty and freshness
