Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of mosque-based empowerment activities which have been successful for 10 years and involve the majority of residents. Previously, the behavior of the residents of X village was known for committing crimes, not being religious, and being poor. Now, it has changed to frequently going to the mosque and praying in congregation, and being more prosperous because of the funds from empowerment. The Jami Mosque in Yogyakarya is the center for empowerment activities in the form of a waste alms program. The mosque is used for community waste collection and sorting activities, socializing the waste alms program, and distributing compensation funds from the sale of waste. This empowerment succeeded in finding assets and managing assets amidst the community's economic limitations. This study qualitatively describes the management of community assets in waste alms empowerment activities in Kampung X. The theory used is the role of community assets in empowerment. This study is a literature study with data sources in the form of YouTube videos from interviews with empowerment agents and residents. The benefit of this research is that it can be an example for mosques and other villages that have economic limitations, waste can also be used as an empowerment asset to solve community poverty problems.
